Sound and character
The medium felt head bridges the smaller and larger mallets: heavy enough to bring out the deep fundamental of the bowl, yet still fine enough to keep the upper overtones clear. The strike is soft yet substantial, producing a rich, balanced sound image that suits a wide range of sound work.
How to use
Choose this mallet for medium-sized bowls of around 400-900 g. Hold the handle loosely and touch the rim of the bowl with an easy motion. It works well both in sound massage and in group sound baths, because a single mallet covers most of the tonal range of the bowl. It performs at its best when you match each bowl to a sized mallet and reserve this middle size for your middle bowls.
Why this product
Because feeltone has sized this mallet to medium singing bowls. If you want one all-purpose mallet that makes your most common bowl size sound well, you should choose this one, because the middle weight and head size cover the broadest range of bowls without compromise.
Care tips
- Try the same bowl with different grips to feel where it speaks most fully.
- For a deep fundamental, touch the rim softly; for a brighter ring, strike a touch faster.
- Never strike a person or animal.
- Store in a dry, dust-free place.
