Sound and character
This pair is purpose-built for two-handed percussive play. The flexible plastic shaft rebounds slightly off the instrument, so you can play fast, pulsing patterns without tiring your wrists. The 3 cm felt head gives a soft attack and a warm tone — on the Monolina it forms a wonderfully dynamic duo with the Santoori mallet (KSA-21LF).
How to use
- Percussive sections on the Monolina — this pair is also part of the Monolina Traveller set
- Two-handed rhythmic playing on monochords and slit / tongue drums
- Soft, fast playing on marimba and xylophone
- The dynamic passages of a sound bath
Why this product
A pair costs less than two singles, and more importantly the two mallets are matched — identical hardness, identical weight, identical wear. If you work as a sound therapist and want equal feel in both hands, a balanced pair is essential.
Care tips
- Practise slow alternating rhythms first (L-R-L-R) — the flexible shaft helps the rebound.
- Combine with the Santoori mallet (KSA-21LF) for dynamic contrast.
- Safety: the larger the mallet, the greater its momentum — never strike a person or an animal with it.
About Feeltone
Feeltone is a small, hand-craft workshop in Lassan, northern Germany, founded by Ingo Böhme. For more than two decades the team has been building monochords, sound beds, sound chairs and ceremonial drums for therapists, sound artists and meditation practitioners. Every instrument is handmade from sustainably sourced timber and finished with natural hard-wax oils.
