Mounted in your bass drum pedal, this solid felt beater delivers a warm, full tone and a massive, assertive punch. Made in Germany, its special feature is the higher-than-usual mass: the head weighs approx. 135 grams, which gets the bass drum going instantly - but that mass needs to be controlled.
Beater and training tool in one
Precisely because of the extra weight, the Fat Punch is an excellent practice tool: training with it teaches your foot precise pedal control, and when you switch back to a lighter beater you will play noticeably faster and more confidently. Many drum teachers recommend this method for developing foot technique - you can practise it at home on your own kit.
Warm sound with solid depth
The solid felt head meets the drumhead more gently than plastic or wooden beaters, so the tone stays round and warm while the punch remains clearly present. It suits rock, pop and acoustic settings alike whenever you want a full bass drum sound.
Important: not for cajons
The manufacturer explicitly states that this beater is too hard for cajons and bass cajons and could damage their playing surface. Please use it only on a drum kit bass drum.
Size and mounting
Total length is approx. 19.5 cm with a 6.5 cm head. The shaft fits standard bass drum pedals, so you can play right after swapping it in.
