Open copper cuffs with an engraved pattern on the band. Each is about 7 cm across, the band is about 1 cm wide, and it weighs about 35 g. Made in India.
Engraving means the pattern is cut into the surface of the metal. Run a finger along the band and you can feel the lines. The cut lines break up the light, so the band catches a glint as you move.
You get 6 bracelets in assorted designs. The mix can vary from pack to pack, and designs can’t be chosen individually.
Next to a watch or other bracelets
If you wear a watch, the 1 cm band sits comfortably beside it, and it can be worn with other bracelets too. Men and women both wear it, so the six can be shared around the family. Warm, reddish copper goes well with a brown leather watch strap or a wooden bead bracelet.
Bright or aged copper
New copper is light and pinkish red. Over the months it darkens to brown, and the engraved lines show more clearly. Which you prefer is up to you. To bring back the shine, use a paste of baking soda and a little lemon juice, then rinse and dry.
Copper may leave a greenish mark on the skin; soap and water take it off. If you won’t wear it for a while, keep it in a small zip bag so it darkens more slowly.
Putting it on and adjusting it
Slide the open band over the narrow side of your wrist rather than pulling it wide each time. If it is too tight or too loose, adjust it once, slowly and with both hands, as copper bent again and again can crack. Take it off the same way, over the narrow side.
