Stearin candle as a traditional home choice
Stearin is a plant-based wax material traditionally used for candle making. Candles made from it stand stably, burn evenly and have a pleasant, natural character. In this piece you find a purple votive candle decorated with engravings, with the Seed of Life pattern running around its side.
The Seed of Life motif
The Seed of Life pattern is formed by six intersecting circles and has appeared as a decorative element in many cultures for a long time. You see it on the side of the candle in a fine, embossed execution, which gives the piece a distinctive character — it looks attractive when it is not burning and equally when the flame shines through the pattern.
How to use it
Place the candle in a matching candle holder or glass votive lantern. Before lighting it, make sure the wick is trimmed short, to about half a centimetre. Use it on a stable, non-flammable surface, away from curtains, hanging decorations or flammable materials. Never leave it unattended, and do not place it near children or pets.
When to use it
Votive candles, thanks to their small size, are particularly well suited as mood lighting. You can light one before an evening bath, on the dinner table as a decoration, or in the living room when you want a quiet evening with coffee and a book. The purple colour pairs especially nicely with gloomier autumn and winter evenings.
Storage and shelf life
Keep the candle in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. At high temperatures the stearin may soften and the surface pattern may distort. The burning time depends on the size and usually allows several hours of continuous burning, making it sufficient for several occasions.
