Earl Grey is one of the world's most famous tea blends — a classic black tea flavoured with the essential oil of bergamot (a citrus fruit from Italy). What makes our Earl Grey special is that we have tuned the traditional recipe to be softer and more rounded, and decorated it with blue mallow flowers that lend visual elegance to the dry leaf. A truly elegant classic that deserves a place in every tea drinker's cupboard.
Flavour Profile
A full-bodied black tea base, made exciting by the bright, slightly floral-citrus aroma of bergamot. Our version uses bergamot more subtly than many mass-market Earl Greys — so the aroma does not overpower the depth of the black tea, but complements it. The mallow flower adds visually, but is flavour-neutral.
How to Enjoy
For morning and mid-morning tea, for an English five o'clock tea, or any occasion when you want an elegant, focused cup. Traditionally drunk with milk — try it with a splash of milk and a sugar cube in the English way, or on its own with precise 4-minute steeping. An excellent choice for breakfast, the start of the working day or afternoon break.
Preparation
Place 2–3 grams (about 1 teaspoon) of loose tea in a 200 ml cup or teapot. Pour over freshly boiled water at 90–95 °C. Steep for 3–4 minutes — accurate timing is important, as black tea can turn bitter with longer steeping due to tannins. Optionally add milk, cream, plant-based milk or honey.
Ingredients
Black tea, mallow flower, natural bergamot flavouring.
Who Is It For
Morning tea drinkers, classic Earl Grey lovers, fans of English tea culture. A good choice for the workplace, tea-set collectors, or anyone looking for an elegant, reliable everyday tea.
Storage
The 50 g tin preserves the volatile bergamot aroma and the freshness of the black tea. Store in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and strong-smelling foods. After opening, consume within 8–12 months for the fullest flavour.
