Sound and character
Thanks to the diameter and depth, a drum built on this frame produces a deep, long-sustaining fundamental tone. The hard yet flexible structure of the beech transmits the skin's vibrations cleanly, giving you a full voice rich in overtones.
How to use
You can use it to build your own shamanic drums, ritual frame drums and larger instruments. You are free to choose the skin, the handle and the surface treatment, so you can create a truly personal instrument.
Why this product
Thanks to the four-layer winding, the frame stays stable even when the stretched skin pulls with great force. The 16 cm depth gives a moderate swing, making the drum easier to hold than the 31 cm version.
Care tips
- The sawn surface can be splintery, sand it with fine paper before use.
- It is worth treating the wood with hard wax oil before stretching the skin.
- Store in a dry place with stable humidity.
