This compact dreamcatcher, about 8 × 30 cm, blends the tree of life motif with the serene glow of deep-blue lapis lazuli, accompanied by gently swaying feathers. Its smaller size fits tighter spots, above a bedside table or in a quiet corner.
The dreamcatcher tradition
The traditions of the Indigenous peoples of North America hold that the night air is full of dreams – gentle ones and troubling ones alike. A dreamcatcher hung above or beside the place of sleep is believed to filter them: good dreams slip through the web and glide down the feathers to the sleeper, while bad ones catch in the threads and fade by dawn. This is a respectfully kept tradition.
Lapis lazuli – within tradition
Lapis lazuli is a deep-blue rock that may be speckled with golden pyrite; its historic source is Afghanistan. Tradition speaks of it as the stone of truth and inner wisdom, linked to the throat chakra and honest self-expression. Here the smaller inlay adds a fine, deep-blue accent.
The tree of life motif
At the centre of the web sits the tree of life, spreading its branches and roots across the art of many cultures. Tradition knows it as a symbol of life, growth and the connection of the generations.
