The dowsing rod is a traditional tool of water-finding and searching. By tradition, a trained user can seek water, metals, gemstones or other objects beneath the earth's surface, or look for energetic interferences in, for example, the home. These are traditional practices, not proven methods.
Material and make
The rod is made of birch wood and aluminium and comes in a padded storage box that protects it when not in use. It measures 32 cm and is a light tool that sits comfortably in the hand.
How to use
Hold the rod in your palm, curling your fingers and thumb around the handle firmly but not too tightly. The long end of the rod should not touch your hand, so it can swing freely and without interference. Holding it this way, ask it to show you a 'yes': the rod will swing up and down or left to right. Then ask for the sign of 'no' – this will be the opposite movement. It is worth repeating the process once more, so that both signs are clear.
Good to know
For many, the dowsing rod is a playful, traditional companion to inward attention and intuition. Store it in the padded box to keep it in good condition for a long time.
