A short, crisp accent that cuts through the music
The DoubleChick is a compact, mountable rhythm instrument producing a short, clear, snapping sound - similar to the subtle accent a drummer adds with the hi-hat foot. According to the manufacturer, its tone stays rich even at low volumes, so it works equally well in quiet studio recordings and loud stage settings. You can play it with your hands, sticks, rods or brushes.
Mounting on your drum set or percussion stand
The instrument attaches to standard rods of 8-10 mm diameter using a percussion holder, so it slots easily into your existing drum kit or stand system. You position it wherever your hand reaches most comfortably - installation takes only a few minutes.
Material, size and weight
The body is made of multilayer birch combined with a fabric hose, which is the basis of its sensitive response. It measures approximately 28 × 13.5 × 6 cm and weighs just 560 grams, so it puts no strain on your stand. It is manufactured in Germany.
What styles is it good for?
The short, dry snap is useful across many genres: it adds delicate accents to soft accompaniment and reinforces the backbone of the rhythm in more energetic songs. If you play drums or percussion, this effect brings a fresh colour to your playing without taking up much space in your setup.
