Two playing methods in a single mallet
This 24-centimetre mallet was designed so that you receive two sound-producing methods at once. One end features a felt head approximately 7.5 centimetres in diameter, with which you can strike the rim of the bowl and bring out the fundamental resonance. The other end is a wooden rubbing stick, with which you can circle the rim of the bowl to create a continuous, humming sound. You can manage perfectly with a single tool, without juggling several mallets at once.

How the felt head and the rubbing stick work together
First, strike the rim of the bowl with the felt head: this activates the bowl's fundamental note. The two tones blend together, and you will sense a pleasant, floating vibration. You can freely alternate between the two techniques and thus discover the full sonic range of the singing bowl.

The wood of the handle and the rubbing stick is made in Nepal using traditional handwork. The grain, colour, and stated weight may vary slightly between pieces, since wood is a living, natural material. You therefore receive not an industrially mass-produced item, but genuine handwork delivered to you.
Tips for a long service life
Use the mallet only with metal singing bowls; a glass bowl requires a separately designed tool. Store it in a dry, cool place, either upright or lying flat, away from direct sunlight. If the felt head becomes dusty, clean it with a dry, soft brush; please avoid water. From time to time, you may lightly rub the wooden stick with a drop of natural beeswax, which helps preserve the smoothness of the surface.
