The two stones on this pendulum make a gentle colour pair: a clear quartz crystal pointed at both ends and a pale pink rose quartz sphere. It hangs from silver-tone fittings on a long silver-tone chain, measures about 25 cm including the chain and was made in India.
Pale pink beside colourless quartz
Rose quartz has a soft pink colour that is stronger on some pieces and paler on others, and the stone is usually slightly milky. Next to the water-clear quartz, even this pale shade shows up well. The two stones are in fact related, as rose quartz is the pink variety of quartz.
Rose quartz is traditionally called the stone of love and tenderness. It also makes a good present for someone who likes crystals.
Near a window, out of full sun
When you are not using it, hang it on a hook near a window. During the day light shines through the quartz and both colours come into their own. Choose a spot that is not in the sun all day, as strong, lasting sunlight can fade rose quartz. Place the hook so that the stone cannot knock against the glass.
To ask a question, take it down, sit at a table and hold the end of the chain between two fingers. Wait until the stone stops before you ask.
Two stones, each with natural markings
Quartz and rose quartz are both natural minerals, so colour, translucency and inner markings vary slightly from piece to piece. Yours will not look exactly like the photo. Wipe the metal parts with a soft, dry cloth and do not soak the chain in water.
