Slide-top aluminium tin with 10 g capacity
This small, flat aluminium tin measures 6 x 3.3 x 1 cm and holds approximately 10 grams of cream or balm. The lid does not snap on; instead, it slides sideways with a firm motion and closes the same way. Once shut, it stays securely in place and does not pop open in transit.
Everyday uses
Many people use it to store homemade lip balm, solid perfume, or nail care wax. Its flat shape fits easily into a coat pocket, a small compartment of a handbag, or on the bathroom shelf next to the mirror. On a working morning it is ready for a quick touch-up, and during travel there is no need to worry about leakage.
How to fill it
- Use a spoon or spatula to portion in cream or balm
- Leave approximately 1–2 mm of free space below the lid
- Wait until warm, melted balm fully solidifies before sliding the lid closed
- A label on top clearly marks the contents and the preparation date
Cleaning and reuse
The tin washes easily with lukewarm water and a little dish soap. Once dry, it can be refilled — aluminium does not rust and does not transfer flavour or odour to the contents. For regular cosmetic use, wiping the inside with alcohol before refilling is a good idea.
Things to keep in mind
Because the tin is small and light, storing it on a flat surface helps keep the contents even. It may be packed in carry-on luggage on flights, since its under-100 ml capacity meets liquid rules. The slide-top closes firmly, so it will not soil the rest of the bag. Strongly acidic or alkaline contents are not recommended for long-term storage, as the aluminium surface may react with them — for neutral creams, balms, and waxes it is fully safe.
