The lively E-tone and the yellow lotus
The 3rd chakra, Manipura, is traditionally connected to personal strength, self-confidence and the clear working of the will. The corresponding E-tone produces a clear, lively vibration that you can feel most strongly in the upper belly. The 20 centimetre bowl is made of pure quartz powder, with a 432 Hz fundamental frequency, and a yellow lotus motif on the outside accompanies the sound.
Package and accessories
The 1530 gram bowl comes with a mallet and a rubber stability ring. The rubber ring holds the bowl steady on a smooth table or carpet and helps to bring out its most beautiful, longest sustaining sound. With different mallet materials – rubber, leather or felt – you can draw various tone colours from the same bowl.
How to use it in daily life
Many people sound the E-tone bowl when they want to give themselves a little inner encouragement before an important decision or at the start of a new task. The lively vibration works beautifully as a morning ritual, as a short quieting before exercise, or as a preparation before a longer conversation. If you like affirming sentences, you can say one quietly while the sound is building.
Playing and handling
Lead the mallet around the outer edge with circular, even movements, slowly and with gentle pressure at first. As the sound builds, you may gently speed up, but the pressure should always remain kind. A difference of a few hertz from the stated pitch is completely normal. Never use a wooden mallet on a crystal bowl, as it may damage the surface.
Safety, storage, care
Never place anyone's head over the bowl, and do not strike it too loudly directly next to another person's ear. When using several bowls together, leave a comfortable distance between them. After use, wipe the bowl with a soft, dry cloth and store it in a dry, dust-free place, away from direct sunlight.
