The warm D-tone and the orange colour
The 2nd chakra, Svadhisthana, is traditionally connected to the flow of emotions, to creativity and to the taste of life. The corresponding D-tone produces a soft, warm vibration that you do not only hear with your ears but also feel gently in the area of your belly. This 20 centimetre bowl is made of pure quartz powder, with a 432 Hz fundamental frequency, and on the outside an orange lotus motif accompanies the sound.
Package and accessories
The 1530 gram bowl comes with a mallet and a rubber stability ring. The rubber ring holds the bowl steady on a smooth table or carpet and helps to bring out its most beautiful, longest sustaining sound. With different mallet materials – rubber, leather or felt – you can draw differently coloured tones from the same bowl.
How to use it in daily life
Many people sound the D-tone bowl when they want a calm yet uplifting moment before or after creative work. The flowing vibration nicely accompanies breathing exercises, gentle movement and minutes of everyday replanning. If you like to write a journal, it is worth starting your writing with the sound of the bowl: after two or three slow soundings, the words usually come more easily.
Playing and handling
Lead the mallet around the outer edge with circular, even movements, slowly and with gentle pressure at first. As the sound builds, you may gently speed up, but the pressure should always remain kind. A difference of a few hertz from the stated pitch is completely normal. Never use a wooden mallet on a crystal bowl, as it may damage the surface.
Safety, storage, care
Never place anyone's head over the bowl, and do not strike it too loudly directly next to another person's ear. When using several bowls together, leave a comfortable distance between them. After use, wipe the bowl with a soft, dry cloth and store it in a dry, dust-free place, away from direct sunlight.
