Why a handheld design?
Unlike standard crystal bowls placed on a table, this version is handheld because of its compact size and lighter weight. This lets you move it directly along the body, ideal for individual sound therapy and self-practice. The C base note is linked to the root chakra by tradition.
How do you hold it?
The bottom of the bowl is held by a soft grip or felt pad in the palm. Hold it steadily with one hand and guide the mallet around the rim with the other. Do not grip tightly, as this dampens the sound — keep it relaxed, as if the bowl rests on your palm.
How to use it for therapy?
Sit facing or beside the client and slowly bring the bowl close to the treated area. The vibration travels gently through the quartz material. Do not hold it over one area longer than 1–2 minutes, as the ear and body adapt and the effect lessens.
What to watch for during storage?
Crystal is fragile, so carry it in a soft, padded bag for transport. At home, store it in a box lined with soft cloth. For dust, wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
Who do we recommend it to?
We recommend it to you if you do sound therapy work and seek a tool you can bring directly to the client. It also helps in home practice when you want to produce sound while moving. The handheld design has a significant advantage: you can move the sound freely through the space. Gently passing along different areas of an individual client, you can convey how the vibration sensation changes. Four to six strikes per session are plenty for the client to have a pleasant experience.
