How should the cotton beach towel be washed?

It is made of cotton, so we recommend the gentle care typical for cotton textiles: a lower-temperature (usually 30–40 °C) machine wash, together with similarly coloured fabrics, on a gentle spin cycle. For the first wash it is worth washing it on its own, as naturally dyed textiles can release a small amount of colour. Iron at a moderate temperature, ideally from the reverse side. Please avoid harsh bleach and strong scouring agents to protect the pattern.

Is it more practical as a beach towel or as a throw?

The 100 × 180 cm size suits both purposes — one adult, or one adult and a child, fits comfortably on it. As a classic beach towel it can be spread on sand, grass or a wooden sun lounger; as a cotton throw it works for a more relaxed summer-evening sit, a picnic, or as a covering for the upper body on a cooler evening. Since the fabric dries quickly, it copes well even if you flop back onto it at noon after a swim — so it is particularly practical for summer trips.

Cotton fabric — especially this thinner, throw-style construction — dries quickly: with good ventilation, in the sun, spread out flat, it usually feels dry enough to lie back on within 1–2 hours. Full drying takes longer, and it is worth storing it on the way home in an airy, perforated bag. Leaving it damp overnight or until the next day is not recommended, as cotton stored wet for too long can become musty.
