This eleven-piece set follows the Cosmic Octave system developed by the Swiss mathematician-musician Hans Cousto. Cousto translated the planets' orbital periods into audible pitches — in this set each fork represents one celestial body. The silver version offers a clean, bright aluminium surface for those who prefer the classic metallic look.
How the eleven forks are tuned
The frequencies are fixed according to Cousto's original calculations, with a tolerance of ±0.25%:

How the gold and silver versions differ
The two sets are identical in tuning, size and weighting — they produce the exact same frequencies. The only difference is the surface finish. The gold version is made of anodised aluminium, with an extra protective oxide layer. The silver version has a polished aluminium surface — it shows a more natural metallic colour and reflects a little more brightly in the light. If you prefer the classic, cool metal look, choose this silver set.
What the unweighted version offers
The fork stems do not carry an extra weight at their ends, so they sound clearer and higher than their weighted counterparts. The tone does not boom — it floats gently. This is why they are popular for meditation and sound baths, where the sound environment matters, not physical vibration.
How to sound them
Hold the fork by the lower part of its stem and gently strike one edge of the head with a rubber-headed mallet. Bring it about 10-15 cm from your ear and listen as the sound slowly fades. Do not scrape the surface against hard objects, as this can affect the tone.

The forks are made of polished aluminium, which gives the natural silver colour. Individual forks range from 23 to 28 cm in length, with the full set measuring 59×32 cm. They arrive in a blue velvet storage pouch, easy to take to a session or on a trip.
