A warm, reddish glow and a finely etched mandala pattern: this copper drinking cup recalls the tradition of Indian tamba vessels, reaching back over two thousand years of copperware used for daily drinking. It comes in a gift box, ready to give.

Copper and Ayurveda

In India, copper drinking vessels have been used for thousands of years for everyday hydration; this vessel is known as tamba. According to the Ayurvedic tradition, such cups are believed to help balance the three doshas – Vata (air), Pitta (fire) and Kapha (water) – the elemental qualities to which tradition links the workings of the body. These are traditional ideas, not health claims.

Material and make

The cup is made of 99.9% pure copper. On the outside, an etched mandala motif and a polished finish; on the inside, polished, uncoated copper. It is recommended for cold water only; it is not suitable for milk, citrus or acidic liquids. It holds 450 ml.

Good to know

Copper oxidises naturally, so its colour may change over time, and small spots and discolouration may appear – these are natural properties of copper and do not affect the quality of the water. Clean it gently; you can refresh its shine with a copper polish.
