This vervain incense is made from the dried parts of Verbena officinalis. Its subtle, green smoke belongs to one of Europe's richest ritual herbs.

About vervain

Vervain was revered as a sacred plant by the Druids and counted among the twelve magical plants of the Rosicrucians. The Celts used it in ceremony, and the Druids in rituals of prophecy. Among the planets it was linked with Venus.

Tradition and atmosphere

Tradition holds that vervain smoke brings clarity and inspiration, dispels fear and insecurity, and has a steadying, centring effect when facing a problem. Many light it before considered decisions, endings or new beginnings.

How to use it

Place a pinch on glowing charcoal in a heatproof dish, or on a sieve burner. It blends well with other green or resinous herbs.

Good to know

A natural plant product, so colour and piece size vary. Burn with good ventilation.
