The sound of the sea in your hands
The coast drum - also known as an ocean drum, sea drum or wave drum - recalls the sound of waves washing the shore as you tilt it slowly. Glass and steel spheres enclosed between the skin and a mesh layer roll gently back and forth, and you conduct the strength of the waves by the angle of the drum: from the faintest ripple to a stormy roll. It can also be played as a classic frame drum, with hands or a soft mallet.
Lightweight, pre-tuned build
This light version weighs only about 550 grams, so your arms will not tire even during a long sound bath or session. It comes pre-tuned, so there is nothing to adjust: pick it up and it is ready. The head is goatskin, and the 40 cm frame is made of seven layers of beech wood, crafted in Germany.
Adjustable intensity via a side screw
A clever feature: the quantity of spheres can be reduced through a side screw, so you decide how intense the waves should be. Wanting a softer, gentler sound for a restful evening? Remove a few spheres. Prefer a fuller roll for a group sound bath? Leave them all in.
In therapy, sound baths and music lessons
The 40 cm size is particularly well suited to therapeutic sessions, sound baths and meditation, and it holds its own in classical frame drum playing too. We warmly recommend it to beginners: the ocean drum is one of the few instruments that sounds beautiful from the very first moment - it is almost impossible to play it wrong.
