The middle of this wand is clear quartz in a silver-tone metal setting. On either side sits a polished ball, one purple amethyst and one pale pink rose quartz. The two ends have crystal tips of different shapes, one rounded and one cut to a point. It is 12 cm long and made in India.
Three kinds of quartz on one wand
The colourless middle, the purple ball and the pink ball are all quartz. The see-through kind is called rock crystal, the purple one is amethyst and the pink one is rose quartz. Seen side by side, the three colours stand out clearly, whether you hold the wand or lay it on a table.
The traditions of amethyst and rose quartz
Amethyst is traditionally the stone of meditation and clear thinking, and rose quartz the stone of love. If you are fond of both, this wand saves you from having to choose.
For meditation, turned in the hand
The balls are round and smooth, so the wand sits comfortably in the hand. During meditation you can turn it slowly between your fingers, or lay it in front of you on a small cloth. At 12 cm it also fits in a handbag.
Because it is made from natural stones, the shade of the balls and the clarity of the quartz vary from wand to wand. Rose quartz and amethyst can fade in strong sunlight over time, so do not leave the wand on a windowsill.
The tips and balls can chip on a hard floor, so take care not to drop it. Wipe off dust with a soft, dry cloth, and keep it in a small bowl or pouch so the tips do not knock against other stones.
