This 17.5 cm clear quartz singing bowl is tuned to the B note and shaped as a handheld instrument. The nearly transparent wall gives it a surprising look: when light passes through, the quartz almost disappears in your hand, and only the sound remains.
The 432 Hz natural-pitch tuning
The bowl is tuned in the A=432 Hz system, which many people feel sits closer to the rhythms of nature than the modern 440 Hz standard. The resulting tone is often described as softer and more rounded, which you may find pleasant for longer meditation sessions.
Why the hollow handle is special
The most distinctive feature is the clear hollow handle with an inner diameter of 2.2 cm. You can place your own favourite minerals inside — a small piece of amethyst, clear quartz or rose quartz, for example. As the bowl sings, sound therapy and the presence of your stones surround you at the same time, which many experience as a meeting of two traditions.
The B note and the throat chakra tradition
The B note is traditionally linked to the throat chakra and to self-expression. Many choose this tuning when their voice, speech or singing stands at the centre of their meditation practice.
How to play it correctly
Hold the bowl by the handle in one hand, and use the included padded mallet either to tap the rim gently or to glide along the outer wall in a circular motion. Do not use a bare wooden stick, and never put your head inside the bowl while playing. We recommend playing for at most 15–20 minutes continuously, followed by at least a 15-minute rest. If you own several bowls, keep them at least 30 cm apart.
Accessories and care
The bowl arrives with a padded mallet and a fabric storage bag, so you can carry and store it safely. Quartz is sensitive to knocks, so we suggest keeping it in the bag when not in use. You receive a handheld bowl crafted in China after careful quality control.
