The 1-litre size is a practical choice for the occasional drain maintenance of households and for grill cleaning. The Cleaneco drain cleaner is a strongly alkaline, high-efficiency agent that dissolves the grease and debris blockages that build up in drains. It is also excellent for cleaning grills.
What it is for
It was developed primarily to clear greasy, clogged drains, but it is also effective at removing baked-on grease and soot from grill grates and oven surfaces. It breaks down stubborn, water-insoluble grease deposits, so free drainage is restored.
Use for drains
Pour 250–500 ml of drain cleaner into the greasy or clogged drain as needed, then let it act for 15–30 minutes. Then flush with hot water. For heavier blockages, repeat the process until the drain runs freely again.
Use for grills
For grill cleaning, apply the agent neat to the surface, then rub off the soiling with a coarse cloth. The agent is strongly alkaline, so eye protection is recommended and gloves are mandatory during use.
Composition
Contains: sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide. Per Regulation 648/2004/EC: less than 5% phosphonates, less than 5% non-ionic surfactants.
Active ingredients explained
Sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide are strong alkalis that saponify grease, that is, turn it water-soluble. So both the grease plug trapped in the drain and the grease baked onto the grill dissolve and become easy to remove.
Safety and warnings
The product is strongly alkaline, so the following warnings must be observed:
