Sound and character
The classical sound chair's monochord tuning sings across two octaves: the overtone side weaves a dense, floating sound carpet, while the bass side lays down a deep, gently vibrating foundation. The cloud of sound surrounds the client, and the side panels and "ears" of the seat act as both protection and a resonant body. Vibration travels softly across shoulders, back, and thighs, reaching all the way to the fingertips.
How to use
The classic sound chair is built for clinics, occupational, speech, and physiotherapy practices, kindergartens, rehabilitation centres, and hospice care. It gives security to clients who appreciate clear boundaries: the high sides envelop the body, so sound and vibration enter through skin and bone. Even short sound sequences are remarkably effective; breath and heart rate re-regulate, and both player and recipient can drift into meditative states.
