This large 60 × 60 cm square cover carries the Tribal, or tribal-inspired, pattern. Diamonds, zigzags and small triangles repeat across it in mirror symmetry, in orange, turquoise, grey and off-white.
Here the pattern is formed from the yarns themselves, by jacquard weaving. On the back is plain, natural-coloured fabric with a zip. Made in India, it weighs 0.44 kg. You get one cover, without a cushion pad.
Geometry on a large surface
Across the large square, the diamonds and zigzags repeat in several rows, so the structure of the pattern shows better than on the smaller cushion. From a distance, orange and turquoise are the main colours.
As a floor cushion or a back cushion
Propped against the sofa back it is a back cushion; on the floor, with a firm pad inside, it becomes a seat. If you have a low table in the living room, you can set a few of these around it to sit on.
With wood and wicker
Wooden furniture, a wicker basket and a plain wool throw all go well with the geometric pattern. If you want to tone it down, add a plain off-white or grey cushion beside it.
Every colour from its own yarn
Each lengthwise thread can be lifted separately on a jacquard loom, so the coloured areas of the pattern are built side by side from separate yarns. Up close it looks like a fine mosaic.
To fill it, roll up the large cushion pad, slide it in through the zip, let it open out and settle the corners. If you use it as a floor cushion, a firmer pad squashes down less while you sit on it.
