Tribal, the name of the pattern, refers to its tribal-inspired design. Diamonds, zigzags and small triangles repeat across it symmetrically, much like on many traditional folk weavings. The colours are orange, turquoise, grey and off-white, and the cover measures 30 × 50 cm.
Its front was woven on a jacquard loom, so the pattern is formed by the yarns. On the back is plain, natural-coloured fabric with a zip along one edge. It comes from India.
One cover comes in the parcel, without a cushion pad; it needs a 30 × 50 cm one.
Beside wood and wicker
Wooden furniture, a wicker basket or a wool throw suit it, as their natural tones calm the pattern down. Choose a plain cushion to go with it, such as off-white or grey, so the geometry stands out.
For an armchair, a bench or the bed
Put it against the back of an armchair, on a hallway bench or at the foot of the bed. If you have a corner where all the furniture is plain, this cushion brings the pattern.
Two sizes together
A 60 × 60 cm Tribal cover is also available. The large square one goes at the back and this long one in front, as you can see in the product photo.
Woven, with crisp edges
With a jacquard loom, each lengthwise thread is lifted separately, so the pattern is made as the cloth is woven. That is why the edges of the diamonds and zigzags are crisp. Look closely and you will see that every coloured area is made of tiny lengths of yarn lying side by side.
When you put the pad in, push its two far corners in first; the other two then slip into place easily.
