A plain marigold-yellow cushion cover, 60 × 60 cm and square. The warm sunny yellow recalls marigold petals. Piping in the same colour runs all the way round, and up close the fabric has a fine, slightly heathered look.
Made in India. On the back is plain, natural-coloured fabric with a zip along one edge. The cover weighs 0.44 kg. You get one, without a cushion pad.
A large area of yellow
At this size, the yellow becomes one of the strongest patches of colour in the room. If you want to change your living room with a single cushion, propping this against a grey or beige sofa back is enough.
A backdrop for patterned cushions
Being plain, it can sit behind a patterned cover, and with no pattern to line up, any edge can go at the top. The Waves and Mustard patterns both contain yellow, so they go well with it.
As a seat cushion too
A firm, flatter 60 × 60 cm pad turns it into a seat cushion for the floor or a bench. It glows next to cream, beige and brown textiles.
Like marigolds in the garden
Marigolds flower from early summer until the first frosts, and in many gardens they still grow along the fence and at the edge of the vegetable patch. Their petals range from lemon yellow to orange; this cover is close to their warm, yellowish shades.
Getting the pad in is easiest rolled up: slide it through the zip, let it open out and settle each of the four corners. If you would like fuller corners, a plumper pad will fill them.
