Habanero Orange chilipepper is one of the legendary members of the chili world. Extremely high capsaicin content — very hot. The plant grows to 70 cm, the fruits are lantern-shaped, thin-fleshed, ripening from green to bright orange. Fruity and hot at the same time.
Growing
Sow in January–February in seed trays kept warm. Transplant in May to a sunny, warm spot. Row spacing 70 cm, plant spacing 40 cm. Slow to develop, so patience is needed.
Chili sauces, salsa, marinades, Mexican and Caribbean dishes. Use a small amount at first — habanero is one of the hottest chilis.
