Cayenne chilipepper is one of the best-known, high-capsaicin pepper varieties. Grows 60–80 cm tall. Fruits are 10–12 cm long, thin, ripening from dark green to bright red, with tips slightly curving. Warmth- and sun-loving.
Growing
Sow in January–February in seed trays. Transplant in May to a sunny spot. Row spacing 70 cm, plant spacing 40 cm.
Dried ground cayenne pepper, hot sauces, gulyás, Mexican and Indian dishes. Looks beautiful in a pot too with the red fruits.
