Drum and shaker in a single instrument
At first glance the Chiadero looks like a classic frame drum, but the moment you play it, it reveals its surprise: the shaker built into the frame sounds gently together with the warm, natural tone of the skin. According to the manufacturer this is a world first - bridging classic frame drums, tambourines, panderos and shakers. The result is a lively, expressive sound that suits solo playing, studio recording and live performance alike.
Hand-selected goatskin, tunable design
The head is hand-selected goatskin, tensioned by 8 tuning screws integrated into the frame: with the included tuning key you can finely adjust pitch and volume. This lets you match the instrument to your taste, the room or even the season - natural skin responds to humidity as well.
Beech frame, thoughtful craftsmanship
The frame is made of 7-ply beech wood, durable and shape-stable. The drum has a diameter of approximately 40 cm and weighs only around 850 grams, so your hand does not tire during longer sessions. The Chiadero was developed in collaboration with Tomas Milner and Danilo Raimondo, and it is made in Germany.
Who is the Chiadero for?
If you play frame drum and want a richer, moving sound from a single instrument, the built-in shaker opens up new possibilities. It is an exciting choice for sound-session leaders, drum circle facilitators and adventurous musicians alike.
