What you find when you open the set
Inside the carrying bag you find seven nestable bronze singing bowls of different sizes, each resting on its own brocade cushion. The rim and side walls carry the Buddha wisdom eyes and the colours of the seven chakras. The set includes two suede-covered mallets and one wooden mallet, so you can draw a sound from every bowl from the very first time.
Sizes and the role of each bowl
The bowls grow from the smallest at 8.5 cm diameter to the largest at 16 cm, with a combined gross weight of about 4 780 g. The smaller bowls give shorter, higher fundamental tones; the larger ones give deeper, longer-held tones. You can build a short practice around a single bowl or play all seven in sequence.
The link between the Buddha eyes and the chakras
The wisdom eyes around the rim are symbols of conscious attention; the chakra colours are linked in classical yoga to the main energy points of the body. Each cushion matches the colour of its bowl, so it is easy to see which bowl represents which centre. This is helpful when you play the bowls one by one, moving from the lowest centre upward.
How you can use it at home
The set is well suited to sound practices, quiet rest, breath work and gentle grounding. Many people arrange the bowls on a low table in a living room corner and use a few minutes a day to ease their shoulders and quiet their thoughts. Bronze bowls are never pre-tuned, so the natural fundamental of each bowl is unique to that bowl.
Storage and travel
The bordeaux brocade carrying bag has a zipper and a chakra decoration, and it is designed so that all bowls, cushions and mallets travel as one. Store the bowls in a dry place, protected from knocks. Wipe with a dry or lightly damp soft cloth for cleaning; avoid solvents. With proper care the set keeps its sound for decades.
