Can this cotton bedspread be machine-washed?

It is made of cotton, so we recommend the gentle care typical for cotton textiles: a lower-temperature (usually 30–40 °C) machine wash, together with similarly coloured fabrics, on a gentle spin cycle. For the first wash it is worth washing it on its own, as naturally dyed textiles can release a small amount of colour. Iron at a moderate temperature, ideally from the reverse side. Please avoid harsh bleach and strong scouring agents to protect the pattern.

What can I use it for and where will it fit?

At 200 × 230 centimetres it is an ideal bedspread for a double bed, and it works equally well as a throw across a larger sofa. As a wall hanging it can fill a larger empty wall in a living room, bedroom, guest room or meditation/yoga room with a striking presence. Since both sides carry the pattern, you can flip it for a change of mood, or alternate its roles seasonally (a throw in summer, a wall hanging in winter).

Leaving a few millimetres of space from the wall helps air circulate behind the textile.
