This ceramic rune set consists of 25 small, hand-friendly runestones, gathered and protected by a cotton pouch. Each stone bears a rune: these signs are at once letters and symbols with their own meaning. The ceramic is warm and smooth to the touch, and the signs appear clearly and legibly upon it.

The origin of the runes

Runes are tied to the Germanic peoples who lived across Northern Europe and Scandinavia. The rune script, the Futhark, was used for writing and communication. In tradition the runes are seen as carriers of old Norse wisdom; today many keep them as a tool for divination, self-reflection and meditation, or as a talisman. This is cultural tradition rather than fortune-telling or a proven effect.

Many ways to use them

Many draw the runestones from the pouch for a symbolic question, while others simply keep them as a meditation focus or a small companion to carry. Of the 25 stones, 24 bear the signs of the Futhark, and one is traditionally left blank.

Material and make

The runes are made of ceramic, each around 2.5 centimetres, and arrive in a cotton pouch. Because of their handcrafted nature, the shade and surface may vary a little from piece to piece.

Care

Wipe the stones clean with a dry, soft cloth and store them in the cotton pouch. Avoid knocks so the ceramic stays intact.
