This cedar needle incense is made from the dried tops of Thuja plicata. Its fresh, resinous, coniferous smoke recalls the air of a forest and gives a room a clean, calm quality.
About cedar needles
The tree they come from can live for over a thousand years — a dignified, long-lived giant. The needles are used much like woody cedar, but their scent is lighter and fresher.
Tradition and atmosphere
Tradition holds that cedar needles were burned as an offering to the spirits of plants; they are said to connect heaven and earth, body and spirit, and from that strong bond, harmony grows. Many light them for grounding and meditation.
How to use it
Place a pinch of the needles on glowing charcoal in a heatproof dish, or on a sieve burner. They blend well with other dried herbs and resins.
Good to know
A natural plant product, so colour and piece size vary. Burn with good ventilation and keep glowing charcoal on a fireproof surface.
