Cauldron with Tree of Life pattern and strainer

Cast iron decorative cauldron with Tree of Life pattern, strainer insert. For incense, tealights, home decoration. Stands stably on three legs.

The Tree of Life symbol in cast iron

This small cast iron cauldron features the Tree of Life pattern in relief on its side — with a trunk, spreading canopy and finely drawn roots. It stands on three small legs, and is closed at the top with a lid that has a handle. The package also includes a separate strainer insert that sits loosely inside the cauldron and helps separate the contents (for example dried herbs from glowing charcoal).

Meaning of the Tree of Life

The Tree of Life appears in many cultures: in Hungarian folk art, in Celtic tradition and many other places it symbolises the continuity of life, the strength of family and roots. You will often choose this pattern when you want to bring a calm, family-oriented symbol into your home. The cast iron material is durable and could even be passed down to grandchildren.

What the cauldron is good for

The most common use is as an incense charcoal holder: glowing charcoal goes on the strainer insert, and dried herbs or resin incense on top. With the lid partly closed the smoke is held in and releases more slowly. You can also use it to store tea blends (when dry), as a tealight holder, or simply as a beautiful ornament in the living room.

Cleaning and care

After use let it cool down, then brush out the ash with a soft dry brush. Do not wash with water, as the cast iron surface can rust. Once or twice a year wipe it with a thin layer of cooking oil to preserve its natural surface — even if you only use it as decoration.

How it fits in your home

The Tree of Life cauldron looks especially good surrounded by natural materials: on a wooden shelf, next to a wool rug, or among dried flower bouquets. It also fits beautifully into autumn and Christmas decorations. As a table centrepiece or placed in front of books on a shelf it works equally well.
