Dolphin balance wine stand carved from one piece of Suar wood
The dolphin variant of this balance wine stand is hand-carved from a single block of tropical Suar hardwood. The curved, dynamic body of the dolphin forms the counterweight that holds a standard wine bottle seemingly suspended in mid-air. How the balance works
The geometry of the dolphin's body and the bottle hole are designed so that the combined centre of gravity of bottle and stand sits precisely above the base. This keeps the bottle tilted at a dramatic angle without falling. The effect works only with full 0.7–0.75 litre bottles — partially emptied or differently shaped bottles will shift the balance.
Care
Dust with a soft dry cloth. Treat the wood once or twice a year with food-safe furniture oil or natural beeswax to maintain elasticity and deepen the grain colour. Keep away from direct sunlight and radiators. Never immerse in water. Packaging does not include a wine bottle.
