A candle snuffer is an elegant, smoke-free way to put out candles: held over the flame, the small bell-shaped head cuts off the air, so the flame goes out at once – without flickering or a trail of smoke. This piece is adorned with seven chakra-coloured glass beads along the handle.
Make
The metal snuffer head sits on a long, approx. 28 cm handle, so it comfortably reaches flames in deeper holders or hard-to-reach candles. The handle is made decorative by glass beads echoing the colours of the seven chakras.
About the chakra colours
The chakras, in tradition, are the body's subtle energy centres – 'energy wheels' – whose seven main points are each marked by a distinct colour. The beads present these seven colours, giving an everyday tool a fine, symbolic touch. This meaning is part of tradition.
Use
Held over the flame, the bell-shaped head puts out the fire at once for lack of oxygen. It is especially useful for scented candles and candles burning in glass holders, where blowing would scatter ash and wax.
Good to know
After use, it is best to let the head cool. It can be wiped with a soft cloth.
