What this 10-12-piece pack contains
This pack contains 10-12 medium-sized unbroken calcite geodes. Geodes are plain, stone-like spheres on the outside, with tiny crystals hidden inside. The diameter can vary slightly from piece to piece, so every geode holds a unique discovery for you.
How people typically use them
Many open them at home together with their children – a rainy afternoon makes for a lovely little nature-and-science activity. The pack also suits teachers and workshop leaders: every child can take home their own geode after the discovery session.
How to open them safely
Wrap each geode in a soft cloth, wear safety glasses and sturdy gloves, then tap it gently with a small hammer. Children should only take part under adult supervision. Keep the tap moderate – excessive force can shatter even the crystals inside.
What you typically find inside
Inside calcite geodes you usually find tiny milky-white, pale yellow, or sometimes slightly amber crystals. Some pieces are more densely crystallised, others more modest – this is part of the natural mineral experience. There is no guaranteed sight, which is why every geode becomes its own surprise.
How to keep the crystals beautifully
You can arrange the opened geodes in a small box, a glass display case, or simply on a shelf. The crystals are sensitive to dust and humid air, so please avoid a damp bathroom location. From time to time, you can dust them gently with a soft brush.
