What is a Cajinto?
The Cajinto is the smaller sibling of the well-known cajon: a percussion instrument measuring 27 x 27 x 30 cm and weighing only 2.4 kg, developed by the German Schlagwerk workshop. While a traditional cajon is played sitting on it, this smaller box can be held comfortably on your lap, placed on a table, or mounted on a stand as part of a larger setup. The Skinwood name refers to this particular version from the maker.
Who is this little box for?
If you love the warm, woody sound of the cajon but are looking for a smaller, more portable instrument, the Cajinto is a great choice. Music teachers use it in group sessions, drummers as an additional sound colour, and beginners as their very first percussion instrument. Its compact size also makes it a comfortable companion for travelling and jam sessions.
Stand-mountable design
The maker offers a separate adapter plate (item CA22) that lets you mount the Cajinto on any standard 14 inch snare stand, so you can play it seated or standing, integrated into a drum setup. Please note: with the adapter plate fitted, the CBT10 bass tube cannot be used at the same time.
