The same warm, burgundy-ochre Australian jasper, but on larger, fuller beads of roughly 8 mm: on this mookaite bracelet the stone's living, mottled pattern shows more vividly. The bigger beads make a statement, noticeable piece, on a stretch cord with no clasp.
About mookaite
Mookaite is a type of Australian jasper mined in Western Australia. A dense, microcrystalline quartz (hardness about 7 on the Mohs scale), its characteristic burgundy, red, ochre and cream tones are drawn by iron oxides. On the larger 8 mm beads, the bands and patches unfold in their full beauty. Tradition regards it as a grounding, steadying stone, known as a stone of stability.
Finish and fit
AA-quality beads of roughly 8 mm on an elastic cord; the bracelet measures about 6.5 cm around. The fuller beads make a statement piece on its own, yet it also layers well with other earthy stone bracelets. Each bead's pattern is unique.
Good to know
The same bracelet is also available in finer 6 mm beads for a more graceful look.
