Four stones alternate on the wrist: deep blue lapis lazuli, matte black lava stone, golden-brown tiger eye and pale turquoise-green amazonite. The elastic cord is made with a wider circumference, so it goes on comfortably over a broader wrist. The beads are about 8 mm across.
The four stones
Lapis lazuli is a deep blue rock whose main component is lazurite, often flecked with golden pyrite grains. Its historic source is Afghanistan, and it was the raw material for Renaissance ultramarine paint. Lava stone is a porous volcanic rock (basalt) formed from cooled lava – light, matte black and characteristically pitted. Tiger eye is a golden-brown, silky quartz across which a banded play of light (chatoyancy) runs. Amazonite is the green-blue variety of microcline feldspar, with a soft, soothing shade.
In crystal tradition lapis lazuli is regarded as a stone of wisdom, tiger eye of courage, lava stone of grounding and amazonite of cheer. These are traditions, not medical statements.
Wear
The earthy, deep-blue and golden-brown tones give a masculine, unisex look. Thanks to the wider circumference it sits well on a broader wrist. It is a durable, characterful piece for everyday wear.
Care
Wipe it with a soft cloth and protect it from prolonged moisture and chemicals. Lava stone is porous, so be especially careful to avoid soaking. Each piece is unique: the shade and pattern of the stones may differ a little from the photo.
