The two stones
Amethyst is the violet variety of quartz; its colour comes from traces of iron and natural irradiation, ranging from pale lilac to deep purple, with a Mohs hardness of around 7. Tradition knows it as a stone of calm and clear sight. Hematite is an iron oxide mineral (Fe₂O₃) with a distinctive metallic, silvery-grey gleam and a surprising heft; the gold-coloured beads are coated by physical vapour deposition (PVD), which gives a durable, subtle golden tone. Crystal tradition knows it as a stone of focus and balance. These are traditions, not medical promises.
Two bracelets, many ways
The calm violet and the cool metallic make a contemplative, balanced pair. Layered on one wrist the two bracelets are characterful; worn apart they are more understated. They also make a lovely joint gift.
Care
Wipe them with a soft cloth and protect them from prolonged moisture and chemicals – hematite is sensitive to moisture. Amethyst can fade over time in strong sunlight. Each piece is unique: the shade varies a little.
