A relaxed, versatile sarong
This indigo Java-style sarong is a light cotton wrap designed for warm-weather living. The deep indigo tones carry the quiet character of traditional Indonesian textiles, while the generous 62×200 cm size opens up many ways to wear it.
How to wear it
The simplest way is to wrap it around your waist and knot it at the side — instantly a soft, breezy beach skirt. On cooler evenings, drape it over your shoulders as a shawl, or lay it across the sofa as a small throw. On the beach itself it doubles as a quick-drying towel.
Cotton, woven and printed in Indonesia
The base fabric is breathable cotton in a relaxed weave, with prints rooted in the long Java textile tradition. Each piece carries the small irregularities of handwork, which gives it a personal, lived-in feel rather than the uniform look of factory mass production.
Care and longevity
Wash the sarong cold and separately the first time, since natural dyes may release a little colour at first. After that, machine-wash at 30 °C with similar colours. Skip the spin cycle and dry in the shade to keep the indigo bright. Iron on a low setting from the reverse side if needed, and avoid bleach.
Who it suits
A good companion if you enjoy natural fabrics and pieces that can be worn many ways. It also folds down very small in a travel bag, so it earns its place on holidays where space matters.
