A stout, lilac pillar candle with the Bodhi Leaf embossed along its side. An unscented, fair-trade candle made for rituals, mindfulness practice, or for accompanying a year or a cycle with intention.

The meaning of the Bodhi Leaf

The Bodhi leaf is the heart-shaped leaf of Ficus religiosa, the Bodhi tree, the tree beneath which, by tradition, Siddhartha attained enlightenment and became the Buddha. Tradition regards it as a symbol of enlightenment and awakening.

How to use it

Light it in silence. Recall Siddhartha beneath the Bodhi tree at the moment of clarity, then sit in quiet awareness, watching your thoughts without clinging to them. Being unscented, its flame doesn't compete with incense or other fragrance, so the attention can rest purely on presence.

Material and finish

It is made from 100% natural, sustainably sourced palm-kernel wax (stearin) with a cotton wick. Both the candle and the packaging are produced in an environmentally friendly way. It measures roughly 21 x 6.5 cm, a stable pillar candle that lasts.

Safe use

Stand it in a suitable holder on a heat-resistant surface, away from draughts. Trim the wick to about 1 cm before lighting. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep it away from children and pets.
