What is in the pack
This black copal resin comes in a pack of 5, each unit containing approximately 16 grams of pure natural grain resin. The pack of 5 is practical if you use copal regularly or if you wish to keep a larger stock at home.
Characteristics of black copal
Black copal (Bursera microphylla) is a resinous incense with a deep, slightly spicy and balsamic scent. According to tradition, the ancient cultures of Central America used it for ceremonies, cleansing and protective rituals. This variant is darker in colour and richer in scent than white copal, so choose it if you prefer a fuller, deeper resinous fragrance.
Origin and quality
The product is shipped from Germany, where natural resins are sorted and packed in the traditional way. As copal is a natural material, its colour, scent and texture may vary slightly between production runs – this is not a defect but a natural feature.
How you can use it
You can use black copal on its own or blended with other resins and herbs to create your own scent compositions. Many people add it to meditation, cleansing rituals, or simply when they want to refresh the air at home with a deeper, „more serious” incense.
How to burn it
Place a lit incense charcoal into a heat-resistant dish and sprinkle a pinch of resin on top. Alternatively, sprinkle the resin on a sieve burner with a tea light underneath – this is a slower and gentler method. Always keep the burning incense on a stable, heat-resistant surface and never leave it unattended.
