The candle is made of pure beeswax, whose characteristic soft honey scent comes from the wax itself. As it burns it gives a warm, living light, and beeswax is one of the oldest and most natural materials in candle-making.
Handmade in East Java
The candle is made by a local beekeeper in East Java, who works with natural honey gathered during the flowering of the longan fruit trees. As it is handmade, this is a natural product: the colour and scent of the beeswax may vary slightly from one harvest to another, depending on the flowers the bees have visited. This subtle variation is the beauty of the artisanal character.
The details
The votive candle comes in a glass holder, measures about 4.5 × 4 cm and burns for roughly 14–16 hours. It looks lovely on its own or with several together, creating an intimate light.
