A slow Sunday morning: the warmth of coffee and a single lit stick — the room settles, the scent turns spicy, deep and softly sweet. Banjara Palo Santo incense sticks with copal bring together two classic Latin American ritual aromas on a single stick, offering a characterful companion for moments when you would like to wind down after a demanding day or close a weekend of cleaning with a slow, fragrant gesture.
Palo Santo and copal — two classic scents on one stick
Palo santo, the 'holy wood' from South America, is a natural wood whose slightly sweet, woody and gently citrus aroma has been appreciated in ritual use for centuries. Copal is a resin from Central America, traditionally used by Maya and other Mesoamerican cultures to refresh interior spaces; it adds a warming, spicy character to the composition. Together the two notes feel more layered and rounded than either one alone — the airy, clear line of palo santo is supported by the deeper, resinous voice of copal.
When to use it
These sticks are typically chosen for meditation, yoga, quiet evenings or simply to refresh a room. The palo santo–copal blend works especially well for stronger moments: before or after a move, at the end of a long working day at home, or while reading, when you would like a soft scent layer in the background.
How to use
- Light the tip of the stick, wait a few seconds, then gently blow out the flame.
- The stick will then release its aroma through a slow ember.
- Place it on a heat-resistant surface or in an incense holder, leaving a few centimetres of free space around it.
- Never leave a lit stick unattended, and ventilate the room regularly during use.
- After use, allow the ash to cool completely before removing it.
