Between sticks and brushes: the rods
When drumsticks are too loud and brushes too quiet, rods are the answer. This version consists of 19 thin bamboo dowels striking together: the result is a tight, crisp yet restrained sound. In smaller rooms, at acoustic sessions and while practising at home, you get the full joy of playing - while keeping the neighbours happy.
Skin-protecting rounded ends
The ends of the dowels are rounded, so they are gentle companions on a cajon played partly by hand: they will not damage the surface of the instrument or hurt your hand if you touch them while playing. The rubberised handle gives a secure, non-slip grip even during longer sessions.
Adjustable sound with the rubber rings
The bundle carries movable rubber rings: slide a ring towards the tips and the bundle plays tighter and harder; pull it towards the handle and the dowels move more freely for a looser, softer swish. One tool, several distinct sounds.
What should you use them for?
They are excellent for cajon, drum kit and many other percussion instruments - anywhere a quieter, more delicate sound is needed. They are approximately 41 cm long, 2 cm in diameter and weigh 200 grams. Bamboo is a flexible, durable material that stands up to daily playing for a long time.
