A tropical fish swimming through smoke
This 14 × 17 × 6 cm ceramic fish, weighing 0.540 kg, rises from a shallow base as if breaking the surface of the sea. A lit backflow cone placed in the opening just in front of the dorsal fin releases cool smoke that flows over the fish's scales, tail and base, making it look as though the fish is gliding through a low tropical mist.
Using the holder
Place a backflow cone in the top opening, light the tip, wait for the ember to stabilise, then blow out the flame. Each cone burns for about 20–30 minutes. Only backflow cones produce the cascading smoke – ordinary cones and sticks won't create the effect.
Placement and care
The elongated 17 cm shape suits console tables, wide shelves and windowsills; add a thin felt pad on glossy surfaces to prevent scratches. Keep away from drafts so the smoke stays intact. Wipe the piece with a damp soft cloth after use, and dust the scales with a soft brush or toothbrush. Avoid soaking in water or using abrasive cleaners, which can dull the fine detail.
